Paul Kothe is a Berlin-based cinematographer and photographer working between constructed images and observation. Across commissioned and personal projects, he is drawn to singular characters, charged atmospheres, and the moments in which a controlled frame is disrupted by something real. His visual language moves between bold color, graphic composition, and quieter encounters with people and places.

As a visual co-author, Paul develops each project from its specific subject rather than applying a fixed look. His work spans music, fashion, cultural and brand films, artist portraits, and travel-based photography. Experience across cinematography, photography, and editing allows him to think in sequences: how an image carries emotion, how a scene builds rhythm, and how individual frames become a coherent story.

Alongside commissioned work, Paul develops independent photographic and moving-image projects concerned with identity, belonging, performance, and place. He works internationally and values close collaboration, clear communication, and production processes that protect both the idea and the people involved.
